$4.99 Generic Program

What do you need to do to save on many of your generic prescriptions?  Join the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Prescription Savings Club!  Membership in the club costs $11.95 for one-year; that’s less than $1 per month.  Here is a link to additional information about the club (www.gnppsc.com), including a list of 30-day prescriptions ($4.99 each) and 90-day prescriptions ($12.99 each).

There’s no waiting!  But first you need to share these lists with your physician and make sure that a generic alternative is available and clinically appropriate for you.  Once you have a prescription for the medication(s), bring it to one of our stores.  Our staff will help you fill out a form and complete your membership immediately.  Your first prescription will cost either $16.94 (for a 30-day supply, $4.99 plus the $11.95 membership fee) or $24.94 (for a 90-day supply, $12.99 plus $11.95).  After that you will only pay the $4.99 or the $12.99 for one year – then the next prescription following your one year anniversary as member will cost an additional $11.95 for another year’s membership.

Our staff can help you determine if a membership would save you money by comparing the costs you incur now compared to the cost of generics as member of the club.  Other medications that are not on the thirty day or ninety day list are also discounted, so come by one of our stores – we can help you find out if a Good Neighbor Pharmacy Prescription Savings Club card can work for you!

FREE DELIVERY from KCK to Tonganoxie

Because our drivers are so busy, we ask that you make arrangements for your delivery one day before you need your prescription.  We cannot deliver over-the-counter items by themselves, but we are happy to deliver them with your prescription(s).

Ultra-Competitive Pricing

Corporate policy for some chain pharmacies means you pay a minimum amount for a prescription no matter how low their cost might be.  Some chain pharmacies have low prices for certain generic medications (we do to! See information about joining the Prescription Savings Club), but then charge inflated amounts for brand-name prescriptions.  Come in and let us help compare the total bill you pay at other pharmacies with our total price.  You may be very surprised with the result.  Just goes to show – best prices and best customer service are not mutually exclusive!

Prompt Customer Service

We realize your time is valuable and we try to have your prescription(s) ready before you come to pick them up.  Try to give us as much advance notice as possible, but if this is not possible, we will do our best to limit your wait time at the store.  We believe there is no better guideline for customer service than the good old Golden Rule – if you treat your customers like you would your own family, they will keep coming back.

Caring Professional Support

Our Pharmacists are available at our stores to answer any questions or address any concerns that you may have about your medications, and to provide expert advice about taking them. We will work closely with your physician to avoid any drug interactions.  Make use of our online service, “Ask a Pharmacist,” if you have questions or concerns.

Major Credit Cards and Personal Checks accepted

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.  To accept your check we request a current street address and your driver’s license or other form of identification.

FSA/HRA Cards accepted

This spring DeGoler Pharmacy installed a FSA/HRA compliant Point-of-Sale system (also known as an Inventory Information Approval System [IIAS]) at each retail location. This allows consumers with Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) cards to make purchases of eligible healthcare products or prescriptions.

We have completed the self-assessment questionnaire and are certified by SIGIS (Special Interest Group for IIAS Standards). This means that your HSA and FSA cards can be used at our pharmacies after the July 1 deadline, when the claims submission process for these cards is no longer available.

A flexible spending account (FSA) is an IRS-approved benefit plan set up with your employer/insurer. It allows you to voluntarily withhold a portion of your paycheck and use those pre-tax dollars to pay for approved healthcare expenses. Making contributions to your FSA is a good way to reduce your taxable income and save money on health care expenditures.

Many health-related items you regularly buy qualify under most FSA plans, including, but not limited to:

  • Smoking cessation aids
  • Antibiotic ointments
  • Blood pressure monitors
  • Contact lenses and solutions
  • Diabetes test strips
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Non-prescription aspirin and pain relievers
  • Over-the-counter allergy and digestive medications
  • Prescriptions and Prescription co-pays
  • Vaccinations

Refills available by Phone, Fax or Online

We now offer the convenience of refilling your prescriptions online.  Go to the Prescription Refill Form, be sure to choose the correct pharmacy, provide the required information, decide on whether you want the prescription delivered or picked up, enter your prescription refill number(s), submit your request and you are done!  Or do it the old-fashioned way, by phone or fax (numbers available on our Location page for each retail store).

Free Prescription Transfer

It’s easy and it’s free!  Just bring a copy of your prescriptions or labels from your medication and we will do the rest.  New customers will receive a $20 coupon.  This coupon by law cannot be applied to a prescription covered and/or reimbursed by a federal healthcare program, including Medicare or Medicaid, or by any similar federal or state program, including a state pharmaceutical assistance program.  This includes those eligible for Medicare Part D but receiving a prescription drug benefit through a former employer.

Billing for Medicare, Medicaid and most other plans

Our state-of-the-art claims processing software connects instantaneously over the Internet with insurance companies such as Medicare-D, Kansas Medicaid, and most other insurance plans to verify claim acceptance and the correct co-pay set by the insurance company.  If a claim is rejected, we will do our best to help you resolve the situation quickly and efficiently.

Charge Accounts with monthly statements

Charge accounts are available upon credit approval at each of our stores.  We send you monthly statements and ask that you pay the balance due within thirty days.  Delinquent accounts are charged 1.5% per month finance charge on the balance due.

Long-Term Care Pharmacy Services – DeGoler Care Midwest

We provide services for assisted-living and skilled nursing facilities, as well as alternate care services for individuals with mental and developmental disabilities.  Click here to view our web page dedicated to DeGoler Care Midwest.

Senior Discounts

We give a 10% senior discount to our customers aged 55 and older.  However, by law we cannot discount a prescription covered and/or reimbursed by a federal healthcare program, including Medicare or Medicaid, or by any similar federal or state program, including a state pharmaceutical assistance program.  This includes those eligible for Medicare Part D but receiving a prescription drug benefit through a former employer.  In addition, senior discounts are not given on co-pays from any third-party insurance.

Workers' Compensation

All of our retail locations are able to submit your workers’ compensation prescriptions.  Our program is simple and fast.  We will provide up to a 30-day supply at no cost to you.  You will need to provide us with the following information so that we may quickly process your claim: name, address, telephone, date of birth, social security number, date and type of injury, employer name and contact information.

Computerized Reporting

Our prescription software can produce two medical expense reports.  One shows the total cost of a medication, and the other shows the amount that is the customer’s obligation.  The difference is the amount that is paid by insurance.  We are happy to provide these reports for tax purposes (medical expenses over 7.5 % of an individual’s or married couple’s adjusted gross income can be counted as an itemized deduction on Schedule A of IRS form 1040) or if required by insurance companies.

Patient Assistance / Voucher Programs

Our pharmacy at Bethany Medical Plaza specializes in processing prescriptions for most of the patient assistance agencies and/or voucher programs offered in the Kansas City area. Some of the specific agencies we work with are Riverview Community Services, Metropolitan Lutheran Ministries, Turner House Clinic, Swope Health Services and For Safe Keeping. If you have a voucher or an assistance program from an agency not listed above, please contact our pharmacy and we will make every effort to work with you and provide the assistance you need.

Compounding

Our store at 8101 Parallel provides specialty compounding services for our patients. Compounding provides a way for physicians to customize an individualized prescription for the specific need of their patient.  Since every patient is unique, the strength or the dosage form needs to be specially made to fit the individual.  Sometimes they need medicine at strengths that are not manufactured by drug companies, or perhaps they simply need a different method of ingesting a medication. From combining multiple medications into a single convenient dosage for hospice patients to delivering children’s cough medicine through a flavored medication, compounding provides solutions not easily met by commercial products.  Some of our compounding services include solutions, suppositories, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (creams and sublingual troches), medication favoring, and pain management (topical gels and creams).
